Facebook is scrapping its iconic blue menu bar in favour of a slick white design and is focusing on bringing people together.
Zuckerberg revealed there would be a focus on groups and also discussed an exciting upgrade for users of Facebook Dating.
He said: “We believe that there is a community for everyone. So we’ve been working on a major evolution to make communities as central as friends.”
Facebook daters will now be allowed to select up to nine friends they have a soft spot for on the Secret Crush feature.
The difference to other online dating apps, where you have to wait to show up in a browsing queue, is that your crush will then be sent a notification automatically – saying “A friend added you as a secret crush.”
If your crush then picks you your identities will be revealed, Wired reports.

Secret Crush is currently only available to countries using the Facebook service – this includes Colombia, Thailand, Canada, Argentina, and Mexico.
From today it will also be expanded to 14 new countries: Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Guyana, and Suriname.MESSENGER
Zuckerberg told the conference private messaging, ephemeral stories and small groups are the fastest-growing areas of online communication. In last three years, the number of people using WhatsApp has almost doubled.
Fascebook is now working on “LightSpeed” in order to make its Messenger app smaller in size and faster.
Facebook will also introduce Messenger for Mac and Windows and launch a new feature called “Product Catalog” for WhatsApp Business. The desktop version of Messenger will be available this fall.
Facebook also wants to make it easier for people to start new friendships in their shared communities, whether that be from school, work or city.It is an opt-in feature, which means users will only see others that open to meeting new people.
A spokesperson said: “We’ve started testing Meet New Friends in a few places, and we’ll roll it out wider soon.
“We will also be integrating Facebook Groups, making it possible to meet new friends from your most meaningful communities on Facebook.”
Facebook has created a new Groups tab to show a personalised feed of activity across all of your groups.
It has also upgraded the discovery tool with “improved recommendations letting you quickly find groups you might be interested in.”
Group recommendations have been made easier to share and users will also be able to share content directly to your Groups from News Feed the same way they do with friends and family.
A new Events tab has been launched so users can keep with news, get recommendations, discover local businesses, and coordinate with friends to make plans to get together.
People will soon be able to ship Marketplace items anywhere in the continental US and pay for their purchases directly on Facebook.
For sellers this means reaching more buyers and getting paid securely, and for buyers this means shopping more items – near or far.
