Facebook Messenger has a SECRET Dark Mode that you can unlock by sending the moon emoji



FACEBOOK Messenger has a secret “dark mode” that makes the app gentler on your eyes at night.
To unlock the hidden feature, simply open Messenger and send the moon emoji to one of your pals.

Facebook has been testing Dark Mode for several months, but it appears the firm has finally released it to users.
To unlock the feature, simply open Messenger and send the moon emoji to one of your pals.
Moon emojis rain down from the top of your screen, and a message reads: “You’ve found dark mode!”
Activating it switches the colours of your app, turning the background black and icons dark blue.

Fotball emoji – Keepy-uppy mini game

You can switch it on or off via your settings, so the changes aren’t permanent.
The tool cuts down the amount of blue light you shine into your eyes at night.
Scientists think that bright lights (and blue light, in particular) have a detrimental effect on your eyes and sleeping patterns.
This means switching to Dark Mode could be good for your health, and a number of major platforms have now implemented a Dark Mode, including Twitter and Microsoft Outlook.

Facebook is offering its Dark Mode on a trial basis, so only select users can access it for now.
During tests at our London HQ, we were able to activate it on one phone, but not another.
To give yourself the best chance of getting it, make sure you have the most up to date version of Messenger.
