Errol Spence targets blockbuster fights with Terence Crawford and Manny Pacquiao if he beats Mikey Garcia in Texas

ERROL SPENCE has targeted blockbuster showdowns with Terence Crawford and Manny Pacquiao – if he retains his IBF title against Mikey Garcia.

Speaking to SunSport the Texan named WBA ‘regular’ champion Pacquiao and WBO king Crawford as potential counterparts if he gets past the challenge of Garcia.
Spence said: “I’m focused on Garcia, but after that I look at who’s the next available opponent.
“But if I could have a choice I’d like to fight Manny Pacquiao next – because of the name, the win, he’s a Hall of Famer.
“Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, they’ll be around for years, Manny Pacquiao won’t be around as long as he’s older and it would be an honour just to share the ring with someone like him.
“Crawford is a fight that’s definitely gonna happen too – and when it does happen it’s gonna be huge.

“I think it’s a fight that’s marinating right now and definitely one for the books.”
As Spence, 29, prepares to make the third defence of the IBF strap he won against Kell Brook in 2017, he faces a four-weight world champion in Garcia, 31.
Garcia began his career at featherweight, and has gone onto win titles as super-feather, lightweight and most recently super-lightweight.
Garcia has twice fought at super-lightweight, both in 2017, defeating Adrien Broner and then Sergey Lipinets for the 140lb IBF title.

Garcia is a four-weight world champion, but last competed at lightweight meaning he will jump 17lb against Spence
However, the Californian dropped back down to lightweight in his last contest, unifying his WBC title after beating Robert Easter for the IBF strap in July.
Despite now jumping 17 pounds to face Spence, Saturday’s champion maintains the weight advantage will not be the deciding factor in the contest.
He instead believes the “skill for skill, talent for talent” aspect of the fight is where he will be victories.
Spence said: “I don’t think size advantage will play into it as much as people are trying to say. He has won a title at 140, so that’s just one weight below.

“I think this is a skill for skill, talent for talent fight, and that will be more of a factor for me than the size advantage.
“It could be the biggest win of my career, but it’s all about how you win – it could be my biggest win but it’s down to how I get the win and if I get it in spectacular fashion.”
“The fight was presented to me, Mikey Garcia called me out and for it to be at The Cowboy Stadium.
“I don’t think Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, or Shawn Porter could do numbers at the ATT stadium like Mikey Garcia can do with me.”
Spence announced himself to the UK audience when he took Brook out after 11 rounds in Sheffield to claim his first title.

The current IBF welterweight king revealed plans to return to the “electrifying” UK atmosphere.
Spence added: “The atmosphere was different fighting in the UK. I feel like the energy is different, maybe because everyone was rooting against me, but the energy was huge.
“It was the biggest crowd I ever fought in front of competing in front of 30,00 fans. When the UK does have boxing events everyone comes out and they do have sell out events.
“I definitely like to come back to the UK and fight again, I got treated well out there and the fans were great, it was electrifying.”
