DEAN Gaffney is set to make a dramatic return to EastEnders after his character Robbie Jackson “went missing” for weeks.
The TV favourite was last seen in December, when villain Stuart Highway gave him £500 so that he could go and visit his son in India – leaving viewers at home fearing for Dot Branning’s safety.
Robbie will be returning to Walford very soon
In the months that Robbie has been away, Stuart has managed to get his feet comfortably under the table at Dot’s home, and is currently eyeing up the huge sum of money she inherited from close friend Dr. Legg, who died earlier this year.
However, Robbie will be back to keep an eye soon enough, with 41-year-old Dean confirming a shock comeback.
Speaking to the Daily Star, the actor teased that his character may not be returning to Walford alone, sharing: “He’s gone to right some wrongs, cross some T’s and dot some I’s.
“When he comes back, which is not too long now, is he alone, has he found love?”

Dean also praised new executive producer Kate Oates for the work she has done on the BBC One soap, adding that his E20 alter ego will be featuring a lot more as a result.
He said: “Before, it was just four episodes here and there for me. But now I’m back full-time and it’s a nice feeling.
“It’s a very interesting time on the show right now. I’m excited for what Kate is doing.”
Dean went on to admit that he would struggle to leave EastEnders, which he has appeared in on and off for 26 years.
