Doctor Who series 12 unmasks the Jodoon on set with Jodie Whittaker

The Judoon are back in series 11 (Picture: WALES NEWS SERVICE)Doctor Who series 12 filming is well and truly underway and horrifying revived characters the Jodoon have been unmasked on set.
The creatures were first spotted earlier in the week when Jodie Whittaker was seen roaring with laughter outside Gloucester Cathedral, but now new pictures show the actors behind the nightmare inducing masks.
In one picture, the monsters look completely terrifying as they stood behind a wall with their space guns ready to fire and black helmets covering their heads completely.
But in another photo, the beasts’ visors are removed to reveal the identities of the creatures… and it turns out they’re just four men rather than the horned villain we were expecting.
Other photos showed one of the Jodoon up close and personal, this time with their wrinkled rhino head on in all of its terrifying glory.
Meanwhile, our Time Lord was seen screaming and looking flustered with her sidekick Yasmin (played by Mandip Gill), suggesting that they’ll be having an intense showdown with the monsters.

(Picture: WALES NEWS SERVICE)Showrunner Chris Chibnall recently confirmed the Judoon would be making a comeback after a 12 year hiatus.
‘The Judoon are storming back into Doctor Who in full force, and the streets of Gloucester aren’t safe,’ he revealed last week. ‘If anyone has anything to hide, confess now.’
Chris added: ‘The whole team on Doctor Who are delighted and scared in equal measure to welcome them back: one of many treats we’ve got in store for viewers next series.’

The Judoon, who are frequently employed as a mercenary police force on the planet Judoonia, were last seen on-screen back in 2007 when David Tennant was the Doctor.
They’ll be joining the ranks of returning aliens for the Time Lord after last year’s New Year’s Eve special, Resolution, confirmed the return of the Daleks, with a revamped look that somewhat divided fans.
