PORTUGUESE side Chaves may have boosted their chances of survival by thrashing Nacional 4-1 on Sunday, but it was the assistant referee who stole the headlines.
The Primeira Liga clash had to be stopped for three minutes in the second half after Jorge Cruz had to rush off to nip to the toilet shortly after the break.

Thankfully for the linesman, the players and fans saw the funny side of the incident, with Cruz being greeted to a round of applause after returning to the pitch.
But the match official didn’t get let off lightly by referee Luis Godinho, who further added to his embarrassment by jokingly showing him a red card.
Cruz’s toilet break had fans in stitches online, as one said: “When nature calls, you have to answer.”
Another commented: “Sometimes you just gotta go.”
While another quipped: “Hope he turned his mic of in the toilet.”
One simply stated: “The red card was beautiful.”
Another suggested: “Did he s*** himself while running to the bathroom tho.”
Chaves’ win against their relegation rivals has left them level on points with Tondela, who are only above the drop zone on goal difference.
Both Chaves and Nacional remain in the bottom three with just three games to play, with Costinha’s men four points from safety.
