DANCING On Ice’s James Jordan was left speechless as he received the first perfect score of the series in this evening’s semi-final of the ITV show.
However, a near-blunder from Christopher Dean almost saw the judge give the 40-year-old star one mark instead of 10.
James and Alex’s skate got the first perfect score of the series
James and his professional skate partner Alexandra Schauman gave a mesmerising performance to James Bay’s Hold Back The River, with the former Strictly Come Dancing pro wowing both the judges and viewers at home with his skilled solo skate mid-routine.
Last week, James’ main competitor, Love Island’s Wes Nelson, managed to nab two 10 out of 10’s for his performance, with James the first to land 40 marks out of 40 this series.
The normally-outspoken star was clearly overwhelmed by his achievement, telling hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that he didn’t know what to say.
James said: “I am not often speechless, I am normally quite gobby… But thank you so much.”

He also thanked his partner Alex and heaped praise on his rivals’ performances this evening.
Speaking about the skate, judge Jason Gardiner gushed: “That was the most masterful solo skate that we have had, it was so beautiful.
“For me, this was your goosebump moment.”
Ashley Banjo added: “I am speechless as well, it goes beyond impressive.
The pair wowed both the judges and viewers
“That was just Dancing On Ice summed up.”
Jayne Torvill added: “I felt like I was watching a professional out there, it was just fantastic.”
And Chris admitted that he was so impressed by the skate that he almost gave James the lowest score possible.
