Cyberpunk 2077 news – what is it?
Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming RPG video game developed by CD Projekt Red – the creator of the acclaimed The Witcher series.
But instead of a fantasy setting, the new game is based in a dystopian sci-fi world where humans are part-machine.
Society is split into two: people who work for large corporations (walled off in luxurious HQs) and unlucky outsiders left to fend for themselves.
You’ll play in an open-world metropolis called Night City, exploring and questing across the vast and beautiful environment.

Cyberpunk 2077 release date – when is it out?
There’s no firm release date just yet, which is a shame given that the game was first announced back in 2012.
A CD Projekt Red investor call back in early 2016 suggested that the game would arrive before June 2019.
The company also recently revealed that it had more than 300 developers actively working on Cyberpunk 2077 – so it’s hardly a back-burner project.
The game is going to be out on this generation of consoles, however, with the developer confirming it’s coming for PS4 and Xbox One, which suggests it will be out in 2019, given new consoles are expected by 2020.
More of the game and more information about it will be coming at E3 2019 in Los Angeles this summer.

Cyberpunk 2077 trailers – watch the teasers and videos here
The first proper look at the game came at E3 this year, with this teaser trailer:
Then the developer revealed a huge 48-minute long chunk of gameplay it had shown at E3 and GamesCom:
Is there going to be a beta I can play?
There are currently “no plans” for an open or closed beta, according to the developers.
Given the single-player focus of the title this makes sense, as there should be no scale or network issues that would benefit from mass public testing.
Cyberpunk 2077 rumours – what do we know so far?
Details about the game are still very light, but here are some titbits we’ve learned:
It is first-person persepective only, except for driving and cinematic sequences
It will be primarily a single-player game, although some multiplayer aspects have been mooted
It will be available to buy on Steam for PC, and it’s also coming to Xbox One and PS4
The game is set in Night City, a sprawling metropolis in the free state of Northern California
You play as a character called V that you will be able to customise
There won’t be character classes – you just customise your version of V to suit your playstyle incorporating whatever elements you want
