The Italian faces an uncertain future and needs a good result against Man City (Picture: Getty)Maurizio Sarri is hoping Chelsea show the same level of patience that was afforded to Carabao Cup final opponent Pep Guardiola by Manchester City when the Spaniard was installing his own demanding philosophy.
Sarri’s future at Stamford Bridge appears precarious after losing 6-0 to City in his last Premier League outing and exiting the FA Cup at home to Manchester United – in the latter, fans even chanted ‘f*** Sarri-ball’.
However, the Italian has actually fared better than his counterpart in their respective maiden seasons points-wise and Sarri believes both require time to implement their systems.

‘You have to ask both, Manchester City and Chelsea. But I don’t know if I am under pressure from my club or from you. I don’t know at the moment.
‘I think that, if you choose Guardiola, you have to wait because the club knows very well that Guardiola needs time.
‘It’s not really very easy for an English team to play that kind of football, so it’s normal.’

‘Of course, in every season, I was the coach who arrived from below. So for me it’s normal. I’m used to this situation.’
