Hudson-Odoi was forced off in the first half of the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Burnley on Monday night, and, although the incident initially looked innocuous, it has been confirmed that he ruptured his Achilles.
The teenager will undergo surgery this week and is expected to be sidelined for around four months, even throwing his participation at the start of next season into doubt.

The German giants had four bids rejected in January though were looking to reignite their move in the summer, valuing the England international at around £40million.
But Hudson-Odoi will be unable to pass a medical for the foreseeable, while Chelsea hope offering him an extension now, while sidelined, would be the ultimate show of faith.
The 18-year-old was frustrated with his lack of game time under Maurizio Sarri and had started a competitive match for England before starting a Premier League game for Chelsea.

But since then, he has started four times in the Premier League and been given the opportunity he craves, while Eden Hazard’s likely departure will present even more opportunities.
Chelsea will make it clear that the left wing role is Hudson-Odoi’s if he wants it, while he can expect a salary of around £100,000-a-week, and the west Londoners are hopeful that will be enough to see off Bayern’s interest once and for all.
The Bavarians will have to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements, with Lille sensation Nicolas Pepe, Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic and Leverkusen attacking midfield Kai Havertz all on their transfer wish list for the summer.
