WATCH out prosecco, it’s now the turn of crémant.

Sales are on the rise and it is seen as a more affordable alternative to posh bubbly.
Here are my top picks, all for under a tenner.
Brut rose is all the rage
Taste The Difference Crémant De Loire, Sainsbury’s, £9 (usually £11.50). This wine made by Bouvet Ladubay is rich yet has a zesty apple freshness. Great if you fancy a change from the dryness of prosecco. It also goes well with fish and chips. SAVE: £2.50
Arthur Metz Crémant Brut Rose, Ocado, £9.99 (usually £14.99). Fancy a glass of crémant rose? This is a lovely pink colour and is brimming with red fruit flavours. Perfect for parties. SAVE: £5
L’Extra par Langlois Brut NV Crémant de Loire, Majestic Wine, £10.99 when you buy six (usually £13.99 a bottle).Majestic has 25 per cent off when you buy six or more bottles. You will be paying £65.94 instead of £83.94 when you get six of this little number. The Loire equivalent of a “blanc de blancs” champagne. SAVE: £18
Exquisite Crémant du Jura, Aldi, £8.29. If you are a fan of Chardonnay, you will love this. Made from 100 per cent of the white wine grape. I would prefer a glass of this over champagne any day. Not currently on offer but the cheapest bottle on the block.
Prices correct at time of going to press. Deals and offers subject to availability.
