Can Britain’s highstreets be saved?

Now in an era of click and collect – high streets and town centres across the country have been warned they’ll have to adapt and transform if they want to survive. That’s according to a new report by MPs which aims to tackle the decline in high streets that’s blighting so many British towns – from boarded up shop fronts to actual job losses – as many as 70,000 retail jobs disappeared last year alone. We’ve been to Barrow in Furness and Stockton-on-Tees for some shopping around.
