Brody Stevens dead at 48 – The Hangover actor dies from ‘apparent suicide’ as pals pay tribute to tragic comic



THE Hangover actor Brody Stevens has died aged 48, it has been confirmed.
The comedian was found dead in his Los Angeles home yesterday following an “apparent suicide”, TMZ reported, citing police sources.

Stevens had long battled with mental health issues.
In 2011, the actor was taken to hospital following a bipolar episode.
Just two days ago, Stevens made an upbeat post on his Twitter account.
He told his thousands of followers: “I’m ready to get back on the festival circuit.”
Brody is known for playing Officer Foltz in the Hangover, but he has also headlined a 2013 Comedy Central series, and performed warm-up acts for LA shows including Chelsea Lately and ‘@midnight’.’JUST AWFUL’
Dozens of actors, filmmakers and comedians have expressed their shock after learning of his death.
Actor Adam Scott tweeted: “Brody Stevens was such a kind, hilarious, f***ing weird dude.
“So, so funny. What a shame. Just awful.”
Shortly after learning of Brody’s death, fellow comedian Patton Oswalt urged others who are suffering from depression to “reach out to anyone”.
He said on Twitter: “If you are depressed or feeling suicidal please please please please please reach out to ANYONE. I never get to see Brody Stevens again I can’t stand this.”
Brody’s family are from New Mexico and Arizona, but he grew up in California along with his older sister.

LA comedy club The Comedy Store tweeted: “Thank you Brody for sharing your Comedy and positive energy with us for so many years.
“You made late nights so much fun, pushing boundaries, being different, and never doing the same show twice. Joke writing, crowd work, drums, baseball.
“We love you forever Brody.”
US talk show host Bob Saget tweeted: “Brody Stevens ~ Such a funny man. Such a good man.
“We need you and your comedy. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Loved Brody. Rest In Peace kind soul.”
