Asda is selling £2 DONUT beef burgers with a hole in the middle and we're not sure

“PUT another donut on the BBQ,” said no-one ever – but you might say it now that Asda’s selling burgers with a hole in the middle.
The new donut burgers come in 280g packs of two for £1.97, and don’t worry: they don’t taste sweet.

The burgers are made out of beef and the hole is designed for BBQers to fill with whatever they like, from a fried egg to melted cheese.
Asda also suggests filling the “donut” hole with pulled pork too.
And of course, their shape means they’re perfect for bagels.
They’re on sale now in stores and online at all 631 Asda supermarkets across the country.

At about 99p per patty, they’re more expensive than other burgers that the supermarket sells.
You get four of Asda’s Butcher’s Selection Quarter Pounders for the same price, which works out at 49p per burger.
But even though the donut burgers have a big hole in the middle, they’re actually thicker and have more meat than the quarter pounders.
They weigh 140g each, while the quarter pounders weigh 114g each.
You might think that having a hole in the middle of the burger would make them healthier too.
But they contain more calories than Asda’s quarter pounders.
The donut burgers contain 244 calories per patty, while a quarter pounder contains 189 calories each.
