Christopher Nkunku is on Arsenal’s radar (Picture: Getty)Arsenal target Christopher Nkunku has reportedly turned down PSG’s offer of a contract extension as he looks to force through a transfer move this summer.
Nkunku, 21, a product of PSG’s academy, was heavily linked with Arsenal in January but Unai Emery ended up bringing in Barcelona’s Denis Suarez instead on a six-month loan deal.
Suarez has struggled to adapt to English football, though, making only six substitute appearances for the Gunners and Emery is keen to land a quality replacement ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Nkunku remains on Arsenal’s radar and the north London club have been handed a potential boost in their pursuit of the promising France Under-21 international.
According to Le Parisien, Nkunku is refusing to commit to a new deal in Paris as he heads towards the final 12 months of his contract. He is desperate to secure regular game-time next season and has instructed his agent to put an end to his misery in the French capital.
The report claims Arsenal are waiting in the wings to sign Nkunku and Rennes are also among the clubs interested in the £30million-rated youngster.
Emery knows Nkunku well from his time in charge of PSG and is hopeful he can convince the Frenchman to join him in north London.

He told Canal+: ‘There is a real interest from Arsenal for Nkunku, but the discussions are quite complicated.
‘There are restrictions from Arsenal’s side, they cannot do a transfer in the middle of the season.
‘It is still being discussed with PSG, things could still happen in the next 48 hours, but as I said, the fact that I am here means that it does not look good.
‘His situation will be evaluated in June, then he will have just one year left on his contract, and his situation will need to be evaluated.
‘He is a young boy, who needs to play, enjoy himself, and to sign up for a project for the long term, that is what he is looking for, and he was in that phase with Arsenal but it looks complicated. If we have to wait, then he is ready to do that, he will wait.’
