Arsenal want Alexandre Lacazette to sign a new deal (Picture: Getty)Arsenal plan to open talks with Alexandre Lacazette over a new long-term deal at the club to thwart interest from Barcelona.
The La Liga giants are believed to be keen on signing the Frenchman as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
Lacazette joined the Gunners for a then-club record fee of around £47million in 2017 and he’s formed a formidable partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubamaeyang under Unai Emery.
Arsenal must beat Chelsea in the Europa League final to gain entry into the Champions League and a failure to do so will impact Emery’s budget.

The club are aware of interest from Barcelona but feel the striker is happy at the Emirates and will commit his future to the club.

The Gunners will not listen to offers for Lacazette or Aubamaeyang and plan to hold similar talks with the Gabon striker over a new deal, according to the Daily Mail.
Both parties can expect to be put on wages closer to top earner Mesut Ozil and around the £250,000-a-week mark.
