The German World Cup winner has not played for the Gunners since wearing the captain’s armband in a 2-1 win over Cardiff City at the end of January, appearing in just one of the last seven Premier League matches.
He did not travel to Belarus for the first leg of Arsenal’s Europa League last-32 clash with BATE Borisov due to illness, while there have been reports that Emery is wary of using him in more physical encounters.

But Emery says Ozil has been working well in training this week and has not closed the door on integrating the 30-year-old back into the Arsenal team.
Speaking on Wednesday, Emery explained: ‘The key is in his hands. He is working very well this week.
‘I ask him in our conversation for consistency, to be available for us for training, when you can train consistently you can help us with your best performance in the games.

‘He needs to be available consistently for training, without the injuries, without the sickness. Without that we cannot see the best Mesut with us.’
