Joshua should get his rematch with Ruiz Jr (Picture: Getty)Eddie Hearn confirmed Anthony Joshua would get an immediate rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr after suffering humiliation on his debut in America.
Ruiz Jr stripped Joshua of his three world titles in a stunning victory at Madison Square Garden, stopping the British superstar in the seventh round.
As well as dropping his world titles, Joshua was also beaten for the first time in his pro career, derailing his plans to unify the heavyweight division.
Hearn watched on in horror from ringside as his prized fighter let slip his champion status, but confirmed there was a rematch clause in the fight contract with Ruiz Jr.
‘AJ got sloppy, got hurt and never recovered,’ Hearn admitted.

Joshua was asked about the prospect of activating the rematch clause after the fight and the 29-year-old said he would ‘100 per cent’ exercise his right to an immediate do-over.
‘Respect to Andy Ruiz Jr. Big respect to Andy Ruiz Jr. Sorry I let my fans down. Sorry I let my supporters down,’ he said.
