Amazon Echo SALE – price of smart Alexa speakers slashed by up to £45 today

AMAZON has launched a surprise sale on several popular Amazon Echo speakers – saving you up to £45.
There are deals on four different ‘smart speakers’, all of which are powered by Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant.
Amazon The Amazon Echo has been discounted in a surprise sale
The main Amazon Echo (2nd) speaker usually retails for £89.99, but it’s been slashed to just £20.
That means you’re paying just £69.99 for a powerful speaker with room-filling sound – and a very clever AI at its core.
The voice-controlled speaker lets you ask about the news or weather, play games, set alarms and timers, and even control other smart home devices.
But act quickly, because Amazon is closing this sale on March 13 – at which point prices return to normal.

Amazon You can also get a decent £20 saving on the Amazon Echo Spot
You can also save £20 on the Amazon Echo Spot, which is down from £119.99 to just £99.99.
The Echo Spot is one of the few Alexa gadgets to sport a screen, which improves the experience.
For instance, your news bulletins will now be accompanied by video footage, and you can make video calls to other Alexa users.
If you have two or more Echo Spot speakers around your house, you can even beam your face into different rooms. This may terrify your family, admittedly.

Amazon The Amazon Echo Input lets you turn your existing speaker into an ‘Alexa’ device
Next up is the Amazon Echo Input, which is down from £34.99 to a far friendlier £19.99 – a £15 saving.
The Input is designed for people who already own decent speaker systems, but still want to take advantage of Alexa.
Plugging the Input into your speaker (using a 3.5mm audio jack) or connecting it over Bluetooth will give the speaker full Alexa functionality.
It’s a cheap way to turn your home stereo gear into “smart home” tech of the future.

Lastly, you can save just under £45 on an Amazon Echo Show bundle that includes a Philips Hue bulb.
The bundle costs £189.99 in total, which is down from the usual price of £234.52.
The Amazon Echo Show (2nd gen) is basically a larger version of the Echo Spot, with a large screen that makes for comfortable viewing.
It means you can make crystal-clear video calls, or even watch a bit of telly while you’re cooking in the kitchen, for instance.

What is Alexa? If you’ve never heard of Alexa, here’s what you need to know…

Alexa is an “intelligent” personal assistant built by Amazon.
You can find her on several different devices, including Amazon’s Echo speakers.
Alexa responds to voice commands, and can talk back to you.
She can perform thousands of different tasks, including telling you about the news or weather.
But she can do more complex things too, like ordering a pizza or arranging an Uber taxi pick-up.
To activate Alexa, you need to say “Alexa” to an Amazon Echo speaker.
Alexa currently only works in English and German languages.
Because she’s powered by artificial intelligence, Alexa is constantly getting smarter.
Alexa will also get more used to your voice, and better understand what you want her to do over time.
