BARGAIN supermarket Aldi is known for its range of award-winning booze – but its latest range of wacky flavours sent shoppers into a frenzy this morning.
The German discounter revealed four new flavours – bacon and maple syrup rum, cheesy nacho gin, peanut butter and jelly gin and french onion vodka – but to the disappointment of shoppers it was all an April Fool’s joke.
Some shoppers were fooled by the new range of wacky flavours
Thousands of shoppers liked and commented post on Aldi’s UK Facebook page about the “new” range, with many wishing the prank was real.
One said: “Wish this wasn’t a joke, that PB&J sounds really tasty actually”.
Another added: “I want the cheesy nacho one”, while a third said: “I’d so try the maple and bacon ones aha”.
Lots were disappointed, with one saying: “Gutted that this is a joke”.
But other savvy shoppers weren’t fooled by the joke.
One shopper said: “Nearly had me then, for about 10 seconds”, another added: “Haha! Good one Aldi…”.
