Ajax celebrated their famous victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu (Sipa USA/PA Images)Ajax fans ruthlessly mocked Sergio Ramos as Real Madrid crashed out of the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Madrid had a 2-1 advantage from the first leg in Amsterdam but threw it away as they were hammered 4-1 by the Dutch club at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ramos caused controversy in the first leg after he admitted he deliberately received a yellow card in the first leg, which meant he would be suspended for the second leg but would be available for Madrid’s quarter-final tie.
But it didn’t go according to plan as without Ramos, Madrid’s hapless defence shipped four goals and were deservedly dumped out of the competition.
Ajax fans didn’t forget Ramos’ cheeky presumption that Madrid would do enough in the return leg to reach the quarter-final as they sang ‘Ramos bedankt!’ which translates to ‘Thanks, Ramos!’ during the closing stages of their historic 4-1 win.
Ajax’s travelling supporters also gave a superb rendition of ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ during the game.

First-half goals from Hakim Ziyec and David Neres gave Ajax a comfortable advantage before Dusan Tadic, who was excellent all evening, added a third.
Marco Asensio pulled a goal back in the 70th minute to give Madrid a lifeline but their hopes were extinguished less than 120 seconds later when Lasse Schone sublime free-kick beat Thibaut Courtois.
