The nature of philosophy   Written 2nd of March 2011 by Jokpeme Joseph Omode
When I see the mountains and the valleys;
The oceans and the ever green forests,
I puzzled from the sense of wonder and surprise.
But what baffle me were the stars, moon, sun and the birds.
When I wonder about the nature of the universe
With a sense of curiosity,
I puzzled the more with a sense of wonder and surprise.
The systematic reflection on the nature of the world
And the human life puzzles me the more.
I was plunged into the sea of ideas
Where I must begin to think for myself
To stretch the mind and explore
The realm of the conceivable.
I explored and pursued!
In my pursuit for one
Led naturally to the pursuit of others
To clarify issues,
To discriminate among options
And to make a better decision.
I took rational decisions
About significant issues in my life
Which now develop my mental muscles
To survive the ready atmosphere of life struggle
To feel new depths,
To experience new dimensions
And to open new vistas.
