CHICAGO-  A 13-year-old boy, who wrote a letter to Santa
asking only for safety this Christmas, received a response from none
other than the President of the United States, according to a report.Malik
Bryant is from the neighborhood Englewood, which is known for its
violence and high-crime rate. This Christmas, instead of toys or
clothing, Bryant asked Santa if he could be safe.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Bryant wrote the following in his letter:

Santa: I would like to ask you sum[thing] but first Imma tell you about
me. Im a black African American … My favorite subject is math. I have 2
siblings living with me and Im the only boy on my Moms side of my
family. But anyway all I ask for is for safety. I just wanna be safe.”
In response, President Obama told Bryant that his safety is a priority to him, and that he would be “rooting” for the boy.
