Joy in persecution

May 27, 2013 7:00 am
Today, no doubt can be said that persecution seems to be on the increase both from within and without. But like in the days of the prophets, and even the apostles who also suffered, it will not last for eternity. Endure it! Persevere. Remain steadfast. The persecution you face now (from friends, at work, school, family, people of other faiths) is good because it helps to take your eyes off from earthly things; it deepens and strengthens your faith in God, and your perseverance will be an example to others to follow. God will reward you for being faithful by receiving you into His kingdom where there will be no more persecution!

Jesus does not want expect anyone to be persecuted just for being good, but because of their relationship with Him. Such persecutions may include insults, and false accusations. Don’t worry and don’t quit doing that which is right for Christ Jesus because you are making a difference in the world and you can be sure to be rewarded in the next. There is joy in persecution for Christ Jesus because your reward is certain and in Jesus Christ, there is joy in persecution.
