Chi Rho Symbol

The chi rho symbol is a cruciform symbol. It is formed by the first two letters of the word “christ” using the greek alphabet. These are chi and rho. It was first used by Constantine in the 4th century. He put the symbol on the shields of his army. It later became the official insignia. Constantine also placed the symbol on coins during that time.
