Tender mercy written 28th July 2010 by Jokpeme Joseph Omode
I’ve hurt so many people’s feelings
That I feel not worthy to be blessed and honored
Yet I am blessed and honored.
I don’t deserve it yet I am loved.
I am so speechless and dumb founded at the work of grace
And words will fail to express God’s love.
So many questions flooded my mind
When I think of God’s grace and tender mercy.
Why should I live when I deserve death?
Why should I prosper when I Deserve failure?
Why should I be loved when I deserve hatred?
Why should I live in peace when I deserve trouble?
All this and more I ask when I search through my heart;
When I recalled the past from the present.
What kind of God is this?
This merciful God is so compassionate.
When I am confused, He corrects and comforts me.
No matter what happens,
I shall no more abuse
The special grace and love of God because of His tender mercy.
And by His grace,
I shall amend my sinful life;
To decline from sin and incline to virtue
That I may walk with a perfect heart.
